This triangular bandana is woven by indigenous Kalinga artisans from the Mabilong weaver community in Lubuagan - the weaving capital of the province. Throughout the fabric is the sacred Matmata symbol, representing the eyes of our ancestors that watch over us, and connect us to those who came before.
Hand-made on traditional looms, each bandana features slight variations in its weave and color, making each piece entirely one-of-a-kind. By wearing this bandana, you are directly supporting indigenous artisans and the ancient laga heritage of Kalinga.
Designed and sewn in the SF Bay Area by Michele of the Bontok and Kankanaey Tribe and Juliana of the Gimpong (Tinggian / Itneg)Tribe.
