Known by many names, the Uvong or Lingling-o is an ancient piece of our culture, typically in the shape of an open circle, originally meant to be worn as earrings. They are traditionally made of gold and are now commonly made of brass and sometimes silver. They carry cultural, spiritual, and ceremonial significance, representing abundance, good luck, and protection. It is also recognized as a symbol of ancestral and generational wealth and are respectfully passed down through family lines. The Lingling-o is found in various pre-colonial archaeological sites in the Philippines and is still worn, protected, and created by Igorot peoples today.
Materials & Measurements: Length 18"&20" Glass seed beads and 1cm Ifugao Brass pendant. 18k Gold plated silver and brass findings. African glass beads vary from 1mm - 3mm sizes.
Comes with a brass polishing cloth.
