Known by many names, the Uvong or Lingling-o is an ancient piece of our culture, typically in the shape of an open circle, originally meant to be worn as earrings. They are traditionally made of gold and are now commonly made of brass and sometimes silver. They carry cultural, spiritual, and ceremonial significance, representing abundance, good luck, and protection. It is also recognized as a symbol of ancestral and generational wealth and are respectfully passed down through family lines. The Lingling-o is found in various pre-colonial archaeological sites in the Philippines and is still worn, protected, and created by Igorot peoples today.
Color: Red with white and gold spacer beads, gold tone pendant.
Materials: Glass seed beads and Ifugao Brass. 18k gold plated 925 silver findings.
